I had an annual physical for the first time in five years yesterday and my wonderful doctor beat me up real good. My tetanus vaccine was due and now my arm is coming off. Also, I had never been willing to fast for 14 hours so my cholesterol and risk for diabetes could be checked, but with no excuses like children and anchoring the news anymore, I did it and drove like a grouchy, hungry toddler to the lab for a quick blood draw yesterday. I’ve never gone so long without food and I do not recommend it.
My work as a content writer with specialty in Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is taking off so when my work is done I usually get up and take the dogs for a brisk walk instead of hitting the blog and writing yet again. Now I’m on my way to Skaneateles for an afternoon and evening with friends.
It’s a beautiful afternoon for the drive to the finger lakes, and if I can keep my sore and swollen and inflamed and red arm from falling off, I just may cut it off anyway to end this misery. Otherwise, all is well and I’ll write more soon.

Maureen, you needed to do that fasting test for cholestrol. Also as a gardener you must have the tetanus vaccine. So glad you are in Skaneateles. When I leave Rt. 5 and turn rt. on 321 I begin to relax. Such a retreat. I was reading one of my recent blogs. It sounded like I had children as a single parent. They were teenagers when I was divorced. Not a great time, no age is. I didn’t have a choice. I do enjoy your blogs. Carol
Yes Carol, it’s true, single parenthood is hard whenever we are called to do it. You sound well adjusted on the other side of it and your children have done well. It was a terrific time in Skaneateles even if we had to put weights in our shoes to keep from blowing away. Whoa it was windy. Delightful though in any weather.
One or two honey crisps should cure the pain
Good Morning Maureen~
I tá súil agam go bhfuil do lámh leagan níos fearr! A lámhaigh tetnius é riamh le mothú taitneamhach, ach is neccesity. Bíodh lá mór Doc
( I hope that yor arm is feeling better. A tetnius shot is never a pleasant felling but a neccesity. Have a great day, Doc.)
Gaelic is not used as much as it used to be, but our UPS person is from Ireland and we talk all the time and it makes people wonder what in Gods name are we saying!
Hope raibh tú ag an deireadh seachtaine iontach ar an loch, (hope that you had a great weekend on the lake
Hey Bill what a cool language! I haven’t seen Gaelic written out conversationally( can you be conversational with something that looks like that?) only on road signs in Ireland. So neat. Thanks for the encouraging message.
Yes Cherie, thanks. Would you believe it’s still bugging me? Several days later and it’s still hard and itchy. Too much information, I know. I think I should start a tetanus vaccine support group.
Maureen~
Yes you can…wait until you get the H1N1 flu shot if you think your arm is sore now…..
Bill
I still have an egg on my arm from the shot 6 days ago. Whoa is me.
