I love my Foley, and didn’t think I could ever find another one for my friend. It sat in my drawer all my young years, and when I started having trouble opening jars, there it was, just waiting for me. It is now well used and will never wear out. Guess I will pass it on to my daughter. She probably thinks she will never need one, but she will. Thanks for the great blog. I will look for a foley at garage sales. Or e-bay. Carol

Hi Maryanne, thanks for finding me and leaving a comment. True, these things are the best! So durable in fact, I think they put themselves out of business. How many other things manufactured in the 1960s still function? Good luck, and check ebay. They usually have them. Maureen

I found you while looking for a Foley! I have one and NEED to find more. I’m right with you on the Foley, which is perfect and needs to be remanufactured, and BK Friend, and Tilex, and Simp. Grn.

Hi Amber, this is the first I’ve heard of a Foley with a magnet. The only Foley I ever saw, and still see on ebay, is the very same one I grew up with. I imagine a magnet version is very rare! Lucky you.

Hi Maureen,
I remember having one of those at my parents house when I was growing up. But didn’t know it was a Foley. I’ll have to look and see if it’s still at my father’s house. I do remember that it would really bite in to the lids. Thanks for bringing back the memory.
