Hello Don Rouselle, and welcome to my blog. Thank you for taking the time to read it. I’ve heard from many people like yourself who used to love TV 5 but who don’t watch much news on TV anymore. The internet is really taking over, isn’t it, though commercials do creep into news videos online. Something has to pay for this stuff. I hope you’ll check in again. I appreciate your support. Hi Maureen, I was much surprised when i found your website. Like so many other “local folks”, i was a lifelong viewer of WTVH5, and was so disheartened, when they closed down the station. I wondered what happened to you, and now i know. Really miss seeing you on my local news. I see though, that you have a new career, and sincerely hope you are well. I don’t “watch” much local news anymore, instead getting it, online now ( no commercials) I wish you the very best of luck in all your future endeavors. Sincerely, Don Rouselle

Toni thank you! I don’t actively market my jewelry anymore; it is sold through word-of-mouth. Thanks for asking about it. And the Thousand Islands? They should be one of the Seven Wonders of the Earth, don’t you think? Haven’t been there in a long time. Hope to go again.

I just love reading your blog. I love it when you talk about the Cape and of course, your kids. I was wondering what store at Armory Square sells your jewelry, it is so lovely. I enjoyed you talking about theThousand Islands, my husband and I go there every summer. Again, I think you blog is great, and I miss everyone on WTVH.

Hi Maureen…..Finally, I found your site!!! I have been so distressed since realizing that you were gone from my most favorite news channel. You were always a positive, kind, classy shining light. What were they thinking when they let you go. Now, Channel 5, in my estimation, no longer exists. All the great people are gone, except for Michael Benny. Very sad, indeed. Glad to know, though, that you are doing fine…..You are so missed!!! Marisa Harris

I really love your blog. I found it when I was googling “Sounds of Late Summer” and fell into your site. I started reading one article but found myself reading them all! I was happy to see that like myself, you love birds. I find myself searching the sky at every turn to see a new or interesting bird. I have even resorted to “calling” the Osprey when I ride on the canal on most days. It is amazing how much you can see when you really start to look. The same is true when you really listen. I have been blown away by the cicadas that practically “scream” during the midday sun in these late, summer days.

Through the years I had enjoyed watching you as the ever charming and professional TV Anchor but I never knew your real talent as a writer. I enjoy reading your insights on different topics and also the insights and comments of your subscribers. I will definitely find myself as a “regular” to your site. Thanks for sharing your wisdom, thoughts and a piece of yourself with others in the CNY area. Linda Quinn

My husband and I have followed your career at WTVH since it’s inception. In fact my husband of fifty years, who possesses a wonderful sense of humor, always say out loud, “Where is Maureen Green?” when watching the WTVH News. We have started watching your good friend, Carrie on Channel 9. I always pay attention to Carrie’s jewelry, since I also make jewelry and give it away to my family and friends. My jewelry is being worn all across the country and each time they wear it, they will think of me. (I hope).
Now to the reason I write. I so look forward to your newsletters. After reading your letter today, I realized that little snippets of your life are included in your letters. From the young Maureen, living in Massachusetts to our T. V. Reporter Maureen, to Mother Maureen nurturing her children. Every time I open your newsletter, I can’t wait to read it’s subject.

P. S. My husband is a Luddite and hates computers. I love them and just bought a Acer Netbook so I would always have a Computer with me. LOL!
