I’m surprised that a Bay State girl like you would leave off Durgin Park! 1) Roast Beef 2) Scallops (the sweetest and most tender I have ever tasted!) 3) Indian Pudding.
Great additions Johnny. I never went to Durgin Park but my Dad used to talk about it. Hope all is well….M.
I have to get out more, I only know about 50% of what you posted.
I’d have to get rid of caviar and I’m not much for tuna or any tartar, but I would add a Whopper even with the Big Mac. I would also add some tiramisu and every and any kind of pasta especially my mother-in-laws lasagna!!
My mothers roasted chicken and potatoes – can’t leave that out.
A cup of Coffeemania Coffee (in Cortland).
A lot of pizza too.
A bottle of coca-cola.
Reese’s PB cups and Hersey’s Kisses!
Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.
And I could go on and on but won’t clog up your blog
I would add Hafner’s butter/sugar corn. Hagen Daiz vanilla/choc covered ice cream on a stick and Panera Bread’s strawberry salad. Probably eliminate chilli dog. Awesome food list. Thanks for sharing.
Ken you are a stitch. Yes, give it all a try at some point, and you don’t actually have to get out that much for it all.
Denise I love your additions! I’ll have to take your word on your mom’s chicken and potatoes. You made me hungry.
Carol, you reminded me that I should have added silver corn to the list. I like your other additions too. Yum.
Maureen-
I’d add:
Twin Trees pizza
Wild Salmon
Meltaways from Bonatt’s
Ditto on the scallops @ Durgin Park. Ditto on Durgin Park period!
I’d eliminate:
Any raw seafood or meat item on the list. Someone I know almost lost their life from eating such -at a reputable restaurant. I guess they put those warnings on menus (much like the warnings on cigarette packages) for good reason.
Good topic!
Don
No foods, but rather a link about our city I thought you’d find interesting:

Good Mornin Maureen, Fifty items you want to have before you die? You guys just want to live a long time ! A grilled, medium rare, cooked steak, a large baked potato(sour cream ,lots of real butter, salt and pepper) and about a half dozen ears of this years sweet corn, with the left over butter and salt and pepper on the corn. That would get me and my Doctor ready for the last call! Reminds me; I have not had my three egg omelette, cheese, onion and peppers, mushroom with a side of Texas toast and hashbrowns yet today either. Wonder were The War Dept.is. Bye!
I would add a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and home made key lime pie.
I would add the Hoffman’s Coney, Doug’s Fish Fry haddock, Buffalo wings from Cato Pizza, and garden fresh roasted acorn squash. And some chocolate from Germany, Switzerland, or Norway….preferably all three.
Out the back door venison from up here on Walton’s Mountain.
Mmm mm.
Faith, what a great link. Thank you!
You have some of my favorites, but top of the list would be fresh wild blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream. Just made a pie yesterday. mmmmmmmmmm!
Hi, Maureen! I would add Twin Trees pizza (garlic is the best), freshly ground Eight O’Clock Coffee, anise cookies, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, Gannon’s Isle frozen custard, Thanksgiving dinner, pecan pie, and any ice cream that doesn’t have chocolate or peach in it!
Thanksgiving Dinner and Gannon’s Isle almost anything. I agree Pat. This was a great blog idea.
I would add fresh homemade raspberry jam…dark chocolate dipped canoli…dark chocolate raspberry Godiva bar…country style ribs cooked slowly on the grill that were marinated in and cooked in my secret sauce…real pusties… yukon gold mashed potatoes with french butter and freshly ground pepper…I could go on forever! We are so emotionally attached to food!
